No particles "typical of retroviruses" in "purified virus"

    "Did Gallo purify?
"Gallo?..I donít know if he really purified.

Montagnierís response is staggering. He replied that despite what he called a "Roman effort" the electron microscopists at the Pasteur Institute could not find any particles in the "purified virus" that had the appearances of retroviral particles.

Pressed further about obtaining the HIV proteins he did not accept that Galloís laboratory had purified HIV.
